Blue Thunder Update

As many of you know, 'Blue Thunder,' John Parker's amazing Thunder Mustang, was involved in a take-off accident during testing prior to the Reno Air Races in September 2007 that put the aircraft off the runway, where a fire ensued, destroying the aircraft. See AON News for more information.

Due to the generosity and support of many people, Blue Thunder Air Racing is busy building "Blue II" and plans to return to racing as soon as possible. Visit Bluethunderairracing.com for a detailed update and pictures of their progress.

Thunder Mustang Assets For Sale          The Thunder Mustang is not currently in production. Papa51 Co. Ltd., the original manufacturer of the Thunder Mustang is no longer in business. The Thunder Builders Group L.L.C. acquired the assets required to manufacture the Thunder Mustang through foreclosure on a loan. We have posted these assets for sale. Discussions are ongoing with several interested parties but at this time we have not finalized an agreement that will see this incredible aircraft back in production. The TBG is focused on finding the right mix of passion and money to make this happen. Inquiries should be directed to inquire@thundermustang.com .

The Thunder Builders Group is now maintaining this website. We will post updates when items of interest present themselves so our supporters can have a current source for up-to-date information on the Thunder Mustang. Thanks for all your support.

The Thunder Mustang          The extraordinary Thunder Mustang offers its owner a unique blend of speed, maneuverability and mystique.  Given the power to weight ratio, it outperforms the original North American P-51D fighter at a fraction of the cost.

The Falconer V-12 engine delivers the torque and the sound that turn low passes in to strafing runs. From the time you're pushed back in the seat by advancing the throttle for takeoff until you chop the power for landing, every flight is a form of high adventure, a rush, a journey into the twilight zone, a flight through rainbows in a clear sky.

Thunder Mustang kits are complete, containing everything from the spinner, prop and engine to the tail wheel, less your choice of instruments, avionics, paint and upholstery.  Each piece of the aircraft reflects professionalism in craftsmanship and technical achievement that sets a new standard for excellence.  Extensive prefabrication helps reduce construction time and eliminate hassles.  The complete use of carbon fiber in the structure produces incredible strength and light weight.
